Swimming Competitions

In recent years there have been a number of incidences that have detracted from the enjoyment of our competitions. To help ensure that all our competitions are as enjoyable as possible for everyone we are introducing a Charter and Regulations that will apply at all Sussex County ASA competitions from 1st January 2009. Click Here for Charter, Click Here for Regulations.

Sussex County ASA Championships & Age groups 2010

A provisional programme has been posted on the County web site today. Please check it carefully. Clubs not parents should email me with any mistakes that have been found. At this stage major errors will be dealt with but wrong times will not be changed as you should have checked them before they came to me, and to alter them means listing them all and doing them on the day which holds up the start of the meet.

For Session 6 (long distance) we will be Signing In

Sign In for Events 73 by 16.00hrs

Sign In for Events 74 by 17.30Hrs

The remainder of the championships will be by a Sign Out system

The Sign Out times will be the same as the warm up start times for that session.

Please make sure all your Sign Out sheets are returned by this time and no later to enable us to start on time

Warm Up Start Times.

Sessions 2, 4, 7 & 9 are 9.30am

Sessions 3, 5, 8 & 10 are 1.15pm

It is the responsibility of each club to ensure they have a system in place for their swimmers to inform them if they are swimming or not so the sheets can be filled in correctly and we don’t have empty lanes. A log of empty lanes and which clubs are at fault will be kept and will be passed to the Swimming Committee for possible action to be taken.

Please also note-:

It was agreed to deduct 10 penalty points from the club points if swimmers do not withdraw in time from a final, or fail to turn up for the final and so stop another swimmer from competing in the final.

It will be announced at the gala that withdrawals should be made by a time specified. Also the reserved need to withdraw within the given time if they do not want to swim
