Education & Volunteers

Sussex has a vibrant community of swimmers, waterpolo players, synchronised swimmers and divers. To ensure that all our athletes are able to achieve their own goals we need volunteers to provide the infrastructure of coaches, teachers, poolside officials and club helpers.

Organisations and volunteers need to understand both the good practice and the legal implications of volunteer involvement in order to ensure that volunteering remains a valuable experience for everyone. Click here for information about:

Teacher, coach and officials training

Are you someone who could help make a difference?

Swimming is probably the sport that requires more volunteers than any other; with each discipline having its own set of technical rules and laws.

Becoming a swimming teacher doesn't mean that you need to be an experienced swimmer. The ASA's training courses are recognised as being some of the best in any sport. Everyone starts with the basics and can progress to a level that suits them.

If you think that you might like to become an official you can contact our officials co-ordinator Mrs C Hobbs or ask any of the officials at competitions.

You can find more information about becoming a swimming volunteer at www.britishswimming.org
