Water Polo Girls Feature in South East Team Success
Under 16 Inter Regional Academy National Tournament

Four Sussex girls were at the heart of the South East
team that caused shock waves to run through UK women's
polo. Team SER team came away with silver medals,
having beaten every team they played, never before have
a southern team broken northern domination of this
competition.
SER beat Wales (15-1), North West B (7-5), Ireland
(8-2), an then London (7-6) in the semi final. We were
redrawn with North West B in the thrilling final, which
we led until half time. SER went down 6-10, but it was
a magnificent achievement by the girls, one that has
been noted, and will be long talked about.
The four Sussex girls are Fran Collings (Captain) and
Abi Rocky (Mid Sussex), Hannah Patchett and Lara
Partridge (Crawley).
What a great credit to Sussex polo that we have four
players that can count themselves amongst the best of
their age and gender in the UK/Ireland.
The remaining SER team - Kathy Rogers, Beth Kingsley,
Chloe Roxborough (Christchurch Seagulls), Rebekah
Woolcot (Basingstoke), Grace Walker, Freya Coughlan
