Affiliated clubs

Only athletes who are members of affiliated clubs can compete in county championships and competitions. Swimming clubs and other organisations wanting to affiliate to Sussex County ASA should email Swim England South East or visit their website.

Swimmers considering changing clubs or joining another club can choose which club they wish to be their ranking club. Swim England provide guidance on how to do this as well as other FAQ’s for clubs and club members.

Swim England have developed an online club finder tool that can be used to help everyone looking for a club.

All affiliated clubs need to submit their constitutions each year for ratification. Draft constitutions should be sent to Mrs C. Hobbs.

What is SwimMark?

SwimMark accreditation is Swim England’s quality standard for clubs.  It recognises high standards of governance, sustainability and effectiveness. It includes:

  • Creating the best possible swimming experience for all
  • Raising the quality of aquatics provision across all areas
  • National Sport England Clubmark recognition for great quality clubs

Club Affiliation

Swim England has introduced new guidelines for its affiliated clubs in a bid to show they have the highest standards of safe and effective practice in place.

The Club Affiliation process is being introduced so new and existing members know clubs are well run and their personnel have the necessary safeguarding checks in place to ensure members’ safety.
